If you're here

You've probably already had one of these conversations.

The six-figure quote

Two agencies came back at $80k and five months. You haven't validated the idea yet, and they want you to fund it like you have.

The freelancer who went quiet

Great first two weeks. Then the replies slowed down, the build stalled, and you're holding half an app and no way to finish it.

The template that looks like a template

An app builder got you to a demo. It just doesn't look or feel like something people would trust with their money.

What you wanted was the app you pictured when you started: fast, polished, in the stores, built by people who answer the phone.

Apps founders launched with Codi

Real apps, in the stores, with real users on the other end.

Oddsball

JP wanted fans to predict games and creator videos together, with leagues, leaderboards, and no real-money risk. Codi took it from idea to the App Store, where it holds a 5-star rating, and keeps shipping: version 3.3 went out this month alongside a creator partner program.

Candace's nonprofit grew from a pilot into city and school district contracts, an NBA All-Star Pitch finalist spot, and an NBA Foundation grant, with Codi as the product partner for six years. From founders we've built for

"I'd absolutely recommend Codi to anyone looking to turn their idea into reality."

Codi Tech helped bring my business idea to life. From day one, they've been by my side answering questions, addressing concerns, and guiding me through every challenge that comes with building custom software. Now, I have an expertly built platform, with tons of users that's making a real impact in the agriculture industry.
Matthew MurdockFounder, Waterroutes
Codi Technologies is the only reason our company exists! They go beyond being gifted developers and systems engineers, they are absolute partners in our business. Their ability to deep-dive into our processes and build solutions is untouchable.
Ben HansfordFounder, FairTrade Models

How it works

From a 30-minute call to an app in the stores.

01Week 0

Discovery call

Tell us what you want to build and who it's for. We'll tell you straight whether we're the right team, what we'd cut from a first version, and a realistic price range. We don't work with everyone, and we'd rather say so on this call than in month two.

02Week 1

Fixed proposal, sometimes a proof of concept first

You get a fixed price and a fixed date, with scope written as milestones you can read. For bigger or riskier builds we do a short proof of concept first, so we agree on the technical approach before you commit to the whole thing.

03Weeks 1 to 2

Design before code

Every screen is designed in Figma and reviewed with you before anyone builds it. This is where the app starts to look like yours, and where changes are cheap.

04Weeks 2 to 6

Build, with a demo every week

You see working software weekly, on your phone, and drop feedback onto a board we work from. We use AI throughout the build and our developers review everything before it reaches you, which is how we can commit to a date and keep it.

05Weeks 6 to 8

Store review and launch

We run the whole release: builds, TestFlight, store assets, review notes, and the back-and-forth with Apple and Google. Your developer accounts are in your name from day one, so you own the listing, not us.

06After launch

Keep your engineer

The person who built your app stays on, from on-call support up to a half-time engineer on your team. You get a monthly recap of what shipped, not a timesheet.

What "high quality" means here

Quality is a list of decisions, not an adjective.

These are the ones we make on every founder app. If one of them doesn't fit your situation, we'll say so on the call.

✓
Truly native on both storesA real iOS and Android app from one codebase, not a website in a wrapper. When a wrapper is the right call for a first version, we'll tell you why and price it lower.
✓
A first version that ships in weeksWe help you cut to the version that gets real users and real feedback, then build the rest once you know what they want. Validating beats guessing.
✓
Designed in Figma before a line of codeOnboarding, empty states, loading, errors. The screens nobody thinks about are the ones users judge you on.
✓
Analytics from the first buildEvent tracking on the actions that matter, so by launch you know where people drop off instead of guessing.
✓
You own everythingSource, Figma files, App Store Connect, Google Play Console, domain. All in your name, handed over cleanly.
✓
The store paperwork handledDeveloper enrollment, certificates, privacy labels, review notes, the rejection email at 11pm. We've been through Apple and Google review enough times to know what trips founders up.
Pricing

One number for the build. No hourly. No surprises.

Keep your engineer

After launch, the engineer who built your app stays on. Plans run from on-call support to a half-time engineer embedded on your team.

  • A dedicated share of an engineer every week
  • Monitoring, OS updates, and store releases handled
  • A monthly recap of what shipped, no timesheets
  • Plan clients are first in the queue for new features
What happens after launch?
FAQ

What founders ask on the first call.

Do I need both iOS and Android at launch?

Usually you build both from one codebase and launch together, since the second platform costs little once the first works. Sometimes the right move is one store first, especially if you already know where your users are. We'll recommend one on the call.

How long does it really take?

Six to eight weeks for a first version: about a week of design, four weeks of build, and a feedback window that overlaps with store review. Apple and Google review typically adds one to two weeks, and we start that process early so it isn't the thing you're waiting on at the end.

Will I own the app?

Yes. Code, design files, and the store accounts are yours. We set up App Store Connect and Google Play Console under your company, not ours. If you ever want to take the work in-house or to another team, nothing is held hostage.

What do you build with?

Whatever gets your app into the stores fastest and keeps it easy to change after launch. We've shipped founders' apps on more than one platform, and on the call we'll explain the choice for your app in plain English, including what it means for cost and for making changes yourself later.

Is there anything I should set up before we start?

One thing: enroll in the Apple Developer Program as an Organization, not an Individual. An Individual account can only be operated by the one person who signed up, which means nobody on your team, including us, can publish builds for you. We've watched a founder get stuck on exactly this. We walk you through it in week one.

What happens after launch?

Every build includes on-call support from launch. Most founders keep the engineer who built the app on a monthly plan, so the roadmap keeps moving and someone is there when iOS updates or a store policy changes. You can cancel anytime with 30 days' notice.

What if my idea is bigger than a first version?

Then we'll help you cut it to the version that ships and gets you real users, and plan the rest as later phases you can stop between. Shipping a tight first version in eight weeks beats a perfect one in eight months.

Lucas Bennington, founder of Codi

Lucas started Codi and still sits in every discovery call. He sets the strategy and stays close to the build, and he's shipped founders' apps through App Store and Google Play review enough times to know which decisions matter in week one. He'd rather hand you a working app than a slide about one.

Codi is a US-based product and engineering team in Portland, Oregon, working with founders and small companies across the country.
